Since the start of 2021, my enquiries have increased by 73%. Whilst I’m incredibly happy and grateful to have a good solid few years ahead of me, a lot of enquiries are coming from a place of fear.

There’s been a lot of talk online about wedding suppliers getting “fully booked” for 2022, and let’s be honest, my twisted Daily Mail article absolutely doesn’t help this. It’s hard to know when “dates are getting booked up” is a sales line and when it’s truth.

But in all honesty, it’s just not true.

Let’s look at the facts:

• There is a backlog of weddings, many suppliers are still working with couples who booked in 2018
• Some suppliers, venues, etc are always fully booked years in advance, COVID or not. Supply and demand.
• There are suppliers who have full months, and full years

But none of this means there are no suppliers left, no venues, and you can’t get married. I honestly don’t even think we’re seeing a “lack of choice” yet. I’m yet to struggle to fill any 2022 brief.

My advice to you:

If you have your heart set on a particular photographer, venue, cake maker, florist, contact them and find out their availability. But if you’re flexible, know the style you like but aren’t set on one person or company, you will be fine. One of the great things about the wedding industry is the sheer number of talented, creative people who populate it, and I’m a firm believer in nothing being impossible.

Try not to let the fear trick you into making rushed decisions or book people who you’re not 100% on. Also don’t wait until 2 months before your wedding to book anything. There’s a middle ground.

So carry on booking, on behalf of all wedding suppliers we’re loving seeing life again. But don’t do it from a place of panic and fear.
