WHO WE ARE.

ABOUT GET WED

Put simply, we’re a team of wedding planners based in London. That’s the core. But really, we’re five people who love our jobs, the people we meet and the places this job takes us. If you’re considering working with us, we’ll be spending a lot of time together, so it’s important you know us as people.

From our founder.

Get Wed was created because I saw a gap between fun and pretty weddings. I wanted to do something fun that didn’t look like a kids party, and pretty but not pretentious. We’re 7 years in now and I can confidently say we’re happy filling that gap, and it’s an absolute joy to be doing so.

When I started the business there were a few key factors I wanted to keep at the heart: Honestly, fun, flexibility and creativity (as well as sustainability and growth, but those are more behind the scenes). We reflect back on those words often, and it informs a lot of small and big decisions we make.

MEET THE TEAM.

Rebecca

I got into wedding planning in 2014 on the side of my corporate events role. My love of events however started way back when I chaired the school summer ball committee in year 11. Since then, I’ve planned weddings as far as Costa Rica and as close as Kent, for 2 people all the way up to 250. Safe to say, I never went back to corporate.

Outside of work (to be honest, I’ve made this my personality), a Sunday spent walking to a pub with my Bernedoodle Stevie is pretty much my ideal day. I love English Sparkling Wine and my partner Fraser in that order.

  • I joke that my role is “chief stew” (more Aesha than Kate Chastain). These days, my job is to keep an eye on everything. I set and maintain our standards that are potentially annoyingly high, and of course I still plan weddings. As a classic control freak, I refuse to take my finger out of any pies.

  • Good bands, Tommy’s margaritas, November weddings at Two Temple Place, all dogs, rubbish books, long tables, fancy hotel bars, M&S cookies

Ella

It doesn’t get much quicker than looking after 150 guests and being handed the keys to a red Lamborghini on your first day… but for the last 5 years I’ve tried! Born & Bred in Essex, my top favourite things in life are beach clubs, discovering new restaurants and exploring different cities. At any given opportunity to dress up, be with friends and family and pop a bottle of Prosecco open and I am there. Celebrations are what I live for!

  • Ella is patient zero, the first member of the Get Wed team. 5 years in, Ella has a vast experience ranging from family filled weddings for 250 people to her preferred choice of a party focussed day in London.

  • Spin classes, my electric blanket, a kettle on site at a wedding, pie, mash & liquor, being at The Ned for any occasion, a crisp glass of Savy B in a pub garden.

Ellie

I’ve always loved all things planning and organising, seeing everything come together and guests having fun is the best bit about it. My favourite part of a wedding day are the speeches, watching the couples nearest and dearest laugh, cry and cry with laughter – such a heartwarming moment! I started my career as an event steward/hostess, then spent 4 years working in corporate events before moving to Get Wed 4 years ago.

  • Ellie takes the crown of the most thoughtful and sentimental member of our team. Ellie comes from a corporate background, which gives her a very practical standing, but these days she can often be found working on a marquee wedding in the summer.

  • Dance music with a sax, marquee weddings at private homes, Countryside walks with my dog, roast dinners, trips to the South of France & a glass of Provence Rosé.

Helen

I mean, who doesn’t love a wedding? Creating a day that’s just for that couple and all about them is such a joy. Since deciding I wanted to ‘do weddings’ in 2014, I’ve been fortunate enough to work in a few different areas of the industry. Hailing from the North West of the country, I now reside in Kent with my husband and curly cockapoo.

  • Helen plans our more complex weddings, or the weddings she refuses to give to anyone else. Helen’s experience spans across many areas of the industry which gives her a unique perspective to plan from. She’s the most “get shit done” person you will ever meet.

  • Dog friendly pubs, pie and chips, dancing, fizzy water because it makes me feel posh, bin day (true story), donkeys.

Izzie

Any wedding that feels fun, stylish and completely in the moment, is the kind I live for! Where guests feel relaxed, the dance floor is full and the couple can truly soak up every moment. When I’m not immersed in wedding plans, you’ll usually find me hosting over the top dinner parties with friends or exploring new coffee spots. Coming from a venue background, I've had the pleasure of seeing every angle of a wedding day.

  • We match people to people at Get Wed, and some people are just obviously Izzie people. Because of that, Izzie can be found anywhere across the UK planning a whole manner of different style weddings.

  • Being a dog mum and drinking spicy margs is pretty much my personality, but love a morning pilates class, any occasion to dress up, formula 1, canva (obvs), colour coding everything, convincing people Matcha is actually nice if you add vanilla and keeping my streak on duolingo.
